Bovingdon closes with a bang

Spedeworth South  brings the 2006 season at Bovingdon Raceway to a close with a four formula race card featuring the Lightning Rods, Stock Cars, Bangers and Stock Rods.

The Lightning Rods are real crowd pleasers at Bovingdon, where the drivers really have their work cut out hauling the big Ford Sierra based machines around the circuit without making contact with the opposition or the safety fence. Despite the ever-present risk of wiping out their cars the drivers never lift the pedal from the metal and there is no chance of that happening on the day as they fight it out to claim the Hertfordshire Championship.

The ever-popular Bangers will be going all out to batter each other all over the track as they bring their season to an end with their Track Championship Grand Final.

Fans of non-contact racing will enjoy the Stock Rods. The evenly matched Stock Rods always provide very close racing at Bovingdon as the drivers power round the track with inches between each other’s bumpers. Contact is illegal so overtaking is all down to driver skill and courage, as one small mistake will mean a very expensive visit to the safety fence.

Rounding off a great day’s racing action the Stock Cars will hit the track and indeed each other as the drivers put their armoured cars into action for the last time for 2006 at Bovingdon.

With a great value for money, four formula racing programme, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) will provide an action packed season closer on October 29th.
