Porsche Carrera Cup GB awards

The awards for the 2006 Porsche Carrera Cup GB were presented in front of a capacity audience at the Belfry Hotel on Saturday evening (28 October) when cheques totaling almost £50,000 were awarded.With 250 team members, sponsors and guests on hand, Damien Faulkner took the £15,000 award as overall champion as well as the keys to a new Porsche 911, which will be his to use for the next year. Tim Harvey picked up £10,000 as championship runner-up, while Danny Watts took away a cheque for £6000 for finishing third.In the pro-am category, Phil Quaife won £7000 as champion, Nigel Rice earned £4000 for finishing runner-up and Andy Purdie took £2000 for third place.Meanwhile, the teams were also rewarded and the major award of £7000 went to Stuart Parker of Team Parker Racing. David Bartrum of Motorbase Performance won £4000 for second place, while third place and £3000 went to Simon Leonard of Red Line Racing.The final award was a cheque for £1000, presented to Mike Richards as the 'most improved driver of the season'.
