ALAIN MENU AND MATIAS ROSSI WIN BUENOS AIRES TC2000 CLASSICCo-Drivers Of Rob Huff And Nicola Larini Retire On First Lap
Swiss Chevrolet WTCC driver, Alain Menu, and co Matias Rossi, have won the Buenos Aires 200 Kilometres, the main race of the Argentine TC2000 Touring Car Championship. Chevrolet’s other first-class hired hands, Rob Huff and Nicola Larini, were less fortunate as both their team mates retired on the first lap.
Matias Rossi took the start of the race and took over the lead on lap four. At the mandatory pitstop, Menu took over with 14 seconds in hand. The Swiss driver, one of Chevrolet’s race winners in this year’s WTCC, gradually extended his lead as the second and third placed cars were fighting for position.
Nicola Larini’s co-driver, Christian Ledesma, was less fortunate as he collided with a privateer Chevrolet Astra in Turn 1 of lap 1. Marcello Bugliotti, co of Rob Huff, lost a front wheel before the end of lap one. In both cases their races ended there and then.With this win, Rossi now retakes the lead in the championship with two races still remaining.
