Marcus Zukanovic nominated for 2006 CAMS Motorsport Personality of the Year Award Zukanovic Has Two Titles for the Taking
After receiving strong support internal and external to the category, Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series current series leader Marcus Zukanovic has earned a nomination for the 2006 CAMS Motorsport Personality of the Year Award.
"I feel honoured just to be nominated, to know that those within the motorsport industry and wider community are giving you that kind of support and recognition is really something." said Melbourne based Zukanovic.
The CAMS Motor Sport Personality of the Year award recognises competitors who, through their actions both during and outside of competition, are good ambassadors for Australian motor sport. All nominees must be:
• a current competitor in Australia in a category of four wheel motor sport; • a good role model for those interested in entering motor sport; • personable; • fair competitor; &bu! ll; a 'personality' in the motor sport arena who promotes motor sport in a positive light.
Previous winners include current V8 Supercar driver and recent Bathurst 1000 winner Craig Lowndes, 2006 Australian Rally Champion driver Simon Evans, dual Australian Touring Car Champion Marcos Ambrose, and former V8 Ute driver Grant Denyer.
"To be considered amongst such a high calibre of award nominee predecessors gives you a greater feeling of accomplishment for what you have already set out to achieve and only enhances your drive and ambition for the future" the Unior Tools Ford BF Falcon XR8 driver explained "To win both the CAMS Motorsport Personality of the Year and the Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series 2006 title would be a very satisfying achievement"
The award will be announced and presented at the 2006 Australian Motor Sport Awards to be held in Melbourne on Friday 15 December 2006.

Ford BF Falcon XR8 driver Zukanovic goes into the final Round at Eastern Creek November 24-26, leading the Series on 685 points ahead of 2006 Cleo Bachelor of the Year finalist Jack Elsegood by a close 40 points. With only three races left and a total of 117 points to gain the title is there for the taking, the question is, can Mr Personality Marcus Zukanovic can hold on to his lead and finish victorious as the overall winner of the 2006 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series.
