Celebrities get revved up

for the UK’s leading air ambulance

Billy Zane, Jenson Button, Louise Goodman, Jodie Kidd, Tina Hobley, Eimear Montgomerie and Jilly Johnson are among the celebrities revving up to take part in this year’s Johnny Herbert Karting Challenge on Sunday November 26. The event in aid of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) will take place at The Raceway, London Docklands.

The sell-out event, now in its 12th year, will see celebrities racing their karts to raise over £20,000 for the UK’s leading air ambulance. Among the twenty-five teams taking part will be big names such as Red Bull, Bentley and Maserati.

The event is organised by racing legend, Johnny Herbert, who was involved in one of the worst accidents ever seen in motor racing. His accident stalled his brilliant career and Johnny says of the Air Ambulance, “Everyone in motorsport acknowledges the dangers involved, and like any driver in the country we always hope that nothing will happen. I personally support the WNAA which is always just minutes away should an accident happen.”

Andy Williamson, Director of WNAA, says: “This will be a great day for us. One mission costs roughly £800, so this event alone could help to save twenty five lives.”

Andy continues: “This is a very prestigious and welcome addition to our events calendar, and we hope to be part of it for many years to come. To achieve our next goal of doubling our hours, we need to find a major sponsor and support from celebrities makes all the difference. ”
