Bahrain power

Ice and calm
As most race series wind-down for the off season come autumn, the Andros Trophy is only just getting going. The most famous ice racing championship features a series of events at iconic winter resorts around Europe. And in 2005, the series went further afield to Canada, before culminating in the SuperFinal inside the Stade de France in Paris, in front of thousands of fans. Andros is a staple ingredient of the Motors TV diet and so the channel is showing a review of the 2005/6 season, closely followed by a preview of the 2006/7 season, just before it begins in earnest.

A professional production
The final round of this year’s FIA Production car World Rally Championship takes the crews to New Zealand and one of the drivers’ favourite rallies. Fast, flowing and undulating gravel roads based around Hamilton will see the drivers spend three days flat out in the North Island countryside. There are two drivers fighting for the title; Nasser Al-Attiyah from Qatar and Japan’s Fumio Nutahara. Both have won events so far this year and New Zealand will see a new champion crowned.

Britannia rules…
The Tour Britannia is a described as a Race Tour and has two categories, regularity and competition. Based in Warwick, this year’s event saw four days of action for road-legal cars dating from before 1975. The four days included a series of timed sprints, at venues such as Loton Park hill-climb and Curborough sprint circuit, as well as races on four circuits around the UK, including Donington Park and Oulton Park. An incredible array of machinery took part, from Lotus Europas to Ferrari 275GTBs and Motors TV has highlights of the week’s action.

A Great year…
The 2006 British GT Championship was a season full of some of the closest racing around. The title was eventually claimed by the Scuderia Ecosse team, with drivers Tim Mullen and Chris Niarchos clinching it at the final round. Motors TV is showing a review of the full season.
