Celebs from the motor-racing and karting world endured three hours of high speed karting on Sunday 26 November, when they took part in Johnny Herbert’s Karting Cchallenge in aid of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
The event raised a staggering £20,000 for the life-saving service.
Twenty six teams competed over three hours to see who had the overall fastest time. Unfortunately, Johnny’s own team didn’t win, beaten by Team Permaguard (with Danny Watts, Michael Vergers, Dani Clos and Guy Smith) in first place, Arbuthnot Latham Private Bank (which included Tom Ferrier, Oliver Oakes and Phil Quaife) in second place and the CJ Motorsport team (with Bruce Jouanny, Sam Bird, Borja Garcia and Bruno Besson) in third.
Johnny Herbert said: “Everyone in motorsport acknowledges the dangers involved, and like any driver in the country we always hope that nothing will happen. I personally support the WNAA which is always just minutes away should an accident happen.”
