The fairer SX
The insane world of indoor Supercross hits Switzerland in December, with the European Masters Supercross in Geneva. Riders from all over the world will be taking part, with local hero Marc Ristori up against a strong contingent of Americans, including Mike Brown, Kyle Chisholm and Justin Brayton. For the freestyle riders, they will be faced with a pair of parallel ramps to demonstrate what they can do. Motors TV has highlights from the Palexpo in Geneva.

World class
The 2006 World Series by Renault was another resounding success for the manufacturer, with identical cars designed to provide a stepping stone to Formula One, watched by more than ¼ million people live at its eight-round season. The series has already established its credentials as a feeder to F1, with 2005 champion Robert Kubica driving for BMW Sauber for the second half of 2006. This year, Alex Danielsson took the championship honours, with what was undoubtedly the most impressive season of the field.

Island Life
The final round of this year’s V8 Supercar championship takes the teams and drivers to Australia’s spiritual home of motorsport, Phillip Island. The fast and flowing circuit has two tight hairpins which should see plenty of overtaking as the drivers all try to end the season on a high. The undulating scenery gives breath-taking images and Motors TV will have highlights of all three races.

What an ice man
The opening round of this season’s Andros Trophy takes place at the beautiful Alpine resort of Val Thorens. With the absence of the undisputed king of Andros, Yvan Muller, there will be new names topping the sheets this year but expect Alain Prost and Olivier Panis to be in the fight, as they wrestle their 340bhp 4WD cars round the twisty ice circuit. Motors TV has a 90-minute report on the car class, followed by a review of the motorbike racing.

Moto Kings and Queens
The final round of the 2006 AMA SuperMoto championship was held on a man-made circuit adjacent to the Queen Mary in California’s Long Beach harbour and saw Jeff Ward crowned 2006 Champion after a demonstration ride. His second place in the penultimate race was enough to take the title and he then went on to win the final race of the season, his ninth victory.

Going Le Jogging
The 2006 Le Jog (Lands End to John O’ Groats) rally is a motorsport event with a difference. Intended to re-create the heyday of British Rallying, with mammoth navigation and speed exercises, the route takes the crews the length of the UK, some 1500miles, in 3½ days. It is open to cars built before 1981 and there are two classes; touring and reliability. Motors TV has a review of this year’s event.

They are the Champs
The 2006 Champ Car World Series was full of action, excitement and drama. The 14-round calendar took the teams across America, to Canada, Australia and Mexico and the racing was as spectacular as ever. Frenchman Sebastien Bourdais took his third title in a row and it was British driver Justin Wilson who took the runner-up spot, despite a broken wrist in a thrilling race in Mexico. Motors TV has a two-part review of the full season.
