Renault Sport UK is delighted to announce a three-year sponsorship agreement with leading motorsport insurance broker THB Clowes. The deal will provide benefits for drivers in all three Renault Sport UK series, the Formula Renault UK with Michelin Championship, Formula Renault BARC and the ELF Renault Clio Cup. With the exception of long-term Renault associates ELF and Michelin, it is the first time a sponsor has become involved in all three championships simultaneously.
THB Clowes has provided insurance services to the motorsport world for over 30 years meaning drivers and teams will have access to the highest level of service and professionalism from a company renowned for its specialist broking skills in this niche area.
Every driver registered in a Renault Sport UK championship will receive a free Personal Accident Insurance Policy, which will provide additional cover and benefits to competitors over and above the minimum level of cover currently provided by the MSA. In 2006, a total of 100 drivers competed in the three series, with this number possibly set to increase after unprecedented sales of New Clio Cup.
Individual insurance programmes will be available to entrants to cover their racing cars competing on-track as well as policies designed to protect investment in team headquarters, contents and employees. Extensions can include the transportation of all race vehicles, trailers, spares, equipment and cars whilst away from the home base.
At the end of the season, THB Clowes will provide a prize to the champion driver and Entrant in Formula Renault UK, Formula Renault BARC and ELF Renault Clio Cup. Each winning driver will receive a full racing kit including helmet, race suit, gloves and boots. The winning Entrant prize is being considered and will be announced in due course.
In addition to its logo featuring on all race cars in each series, THB Clowes becomes the new title sponsor of the Driver of the Day award in Formula Renault UK and the new title sponsor of the Fastest Lap in Clio Cup.
