International Formula Master’s Formula S2000 single-seater took to the track for the first time in Vallelunga, Italy this weekend.
Following the S2000’s car launch earlier this month and the interest it has generated since, this weekend marked an important step in the Series’ progress. Series Director, Mauro Sipsz reported a seamless test.
“The shake-down went really well,” said Sipsz. “Everyone on this programme has worked really hard to get to where we are today and the fact that the car ran smoothly for the duration of the test is a compliment to all parties involved. Overall, this was a great start to our testing schedule.”
“I like this car a lot,” said development driver and former Formula One pilot Giorgio Pantano. “The past two days went really well. International Formula Master has created a fantastic car that the drivers will really enjoy racing. I‘ve been keen to get behind the wheel ever since I got involved, and I wasn’t disappointed!”
“Giorgio has given us some strong feedback which will be part of our ongoing development programme,” concluded Sipsz “We are looking forward to Valencia and our racing debut.”
Further tests are due to take place in preparation for International Formula Master’s season opening race on 20 May 2007 in Valencia, Spain.
