Jardine extends Bridgestone contract

Jardine  International,  one  of  the  UK’s  leading  sports  marketing  and  media  relations  companies,  has renewed  and  extended  its  existing  relationship  with  Bridgestone  for  the  coming  Formula  1  and  GP2 Series seasons.

The  Twickenham-based  PR  agency  will  continue  to  provide  public  relations  and  communications services  for  the  Japanese  tyre  manufacturer,  including  full  representation  at  all  Formula  1  and  GP2 rounds   in   2007.   Jardine   International   will   also   continue   to   manage   the   global   communications programme  for  Bridgestone’s  MotoGP  activities  as  well  as   its  pan-European  e-reporter  initiative throughout 2007. Hiroshi  Yasukawa,  Director  of  Bridgestone  Motorsport  said:

“We  are  pleased  to  have  extended  our collaboration with Jardine International in Formula 1 and GP2 for the 2007 season. Once more we will be the sole tyre supplier in Formula 1, a position we enjoyed in 1999-2000, and this means changes to our communication strategy will be required. In addition to Formula 1 and GP2, we also look forward to continuing  our  collaboration  with  Jardine  International  in  MotoGP  for the second  consecutive  season, which will enable us to forge closer links between all three racing categories.”

Tony Jardine, TV broadcaster and Jardine International Managing Director said:

“I am pleased that we are continuing our relationship with Bridgestone in Formula 1 and GP2 and extending our promotion of Bridgestone’s  participation  in  the  GP2  Series.  We  have  worked  with  Bridgestone  in  Formula  1  since 2004  so  this  will  be  our  first  time  with  Bridgestone  as  the  sole  tyre  supplier.  We  will  have  dedicated representatives for  Formula  1,  GP2  and  MotoGP for  Bridgestone  on  events  and  bringing  these  three areas under the same umbrella will allow an even more efficient and effective approach to the account.”

The  Bridgestone  Motorsport  account  will  be  overseen  by  Account  Director  Chris  Hughes,  who  also represents  Bridgestone  in  MotoGP.  Account  Manager  Andy  Stobart  will  represent  Bridgestone  in Formula   1.   Account   Manager   Debbie   Beale   will   represent   Bridgestone’s   GP2   and   e-reporter programmes. The extension of the Bridgestone account further enhances Jardine International’s client portfolio,  which  includes  brands  such  as  BMW  Motorrad  UK,  PlayStation  2  and  Silverstone  Circuits Limited
