Nigel Rice will return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2007 with Red Line Racing and will bid for victory in the pro-am category.Rice, one of the most experienced Porsche racers in Britain, has supported the Carrera Cup GB since the championship was introduced at the start of 2003. Unfortunately, he missed the first season following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident just before the opening race, but he has been in the championship overall top ten for each of the last three seasons."I can’t wait to get out racing again," says Rice, who will continue his long-term relationship with the Red Line team. "I'm up for a full season in the pro-am category." "I'm really pleased to have Nigel back on board; we go back a long way," says Red Line boss Simon Leonard. "I expect him to be a strong contender for the pro-am title."Having finished fifth overall in the championship in both 2004 and 2005, Rice clinched third in the pro-am category when it was introduced for the 2006 season. He is expected to be a leading pro-am contender once more this season. He first raced a Porsche in 1989 and will celebrate his 50th birthday in the middle of the 2007 season.Rice will shortly start a pre-season testing programme ahead of the opening races of the season at Brands Hatch on 31 March/1 April.
