V8 Supercars preview

Once again in 2007 Motors TV will be bringing full coverage of every round of the Australian V8 Supercar Championship. This preview show sets the scene for the 14-round series ahead of the season-opener in Adelaide. Often described as the world’s most competitive touring car championship, 2007 promises to be another vintage year but with an added element of unpredictability. A new points system, rewarding wins rather than reliability, as well as numerous teams swapping their driver line-up, means the title race is wide open. This programme brings viewers up to date with all the pre-season news, views and moves, whilst assessing the chances of the main players in the drivers’ championship and those of Ford and Holden for manufacturers’ crown.

World Superbike Championship kicks off

The World Superbike and Supersports Championships return as Losail in Qatar hosts the opening round of the 2007 season. Following his blistering pace in winter testing, Troy Bayliss is the favourite to retain the title he won in 2006, but the return of Max Biaggi to the series has certainly whetted the appetite of World Superbike fans. Having signed with Suzuki, the former Moto GP rider, famous for his rivalry with Valentino Rossi, is eyeing Bayliss’ crown for himself this year and the racing is sure to be close throughout the season. There will be British interest too as 2004 champion James Toseland (Honda) looks for a second title, having been demoted to the runner-up spot last year. Motors TV brings two hours of coverage from Qatar, featuring both the Superbike and Supersports categories.

Juniors slide into Norway

Drivers in the FIA Junior Rally Championship kick off their season with one of the most challenging rallies that they will have competed in.  New to the calendar for 2007, Rally Norway is set to be one of the most unpredictable events of the season with snow all but guaranteed as temperatures plummet to -30C. 2006 champion Patrik Sendell is back to defend the crown he won from five other drivers on the final rally of last season, but once again competition is set to be fierce. Urmo Aava (Suzuki), Jan Molder (Suzuki) and Martin Prokop (Citreon) also return for another campaign as they look to dethrone Sendell in his Renault Clio. Motors TV brings highlights of all the sideways action from Hamar.
