Harvey joins Red Line Racing

for Carrera Cup campaignTim Harvey will join Red Line Racing for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2007 and reckons that the team will give him his best chance yet of winning the title."Red Line Racing is the winningest team in the Carrera Cup over the last three years and that's obviously very important," says Harvey, who has twice finished championship runner-up in the last three seasons. "I've come very close to the title twice before, and there is always a degree of luck involved. But I think I've now got myself the best chance of winning the title."To date, Harvey has contested three full seasons in the Carrera Cup and has a total of 12 race wins and 43 podium finishes to his credit. Now, he is joining Red Line Racing and believes that the North East team is the championship benchmark. "I'm taking the seat of Richard Westbrook and Danny Watts and that is really the best seat on the grid. I want to try and win the title and do it by winning the most races. I feel this is the best way of going about doing it," says Harvey. The arrangement will also offer Harvey the chance to return to the Porsche Supercup. "The fact that the team is doing the Supercup as well is a big incentive as it allows me to do the Supercup races at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and at Spa."Harvey will have his first run with the team during two days of testing at Magny-Cours at the end of the month. He will work with the other Red Line drivers, who will have the chance to share his data and experience."I'm delighted to get this deal together. The Carrera Cup is looking fantastic for 2007 and the programme is a really good fit with my BTCC commentary work for ITV," says Harvey. The conclusion of the Harvey deal completes a four-car squad for Red Line Racing, with Harvey and James Sutton racing in the pro category, while Nigel Rice and Maxi Jazz will contest the pro-am category.
