Californian-born British-based sportswoman Liz Halliday will appear on Radio Le Mans this week as she looks ahead to her 2007 season in the Le Mans Series.
Liz, who combines careers in both international motorsport and international three-day eventing, will be John Hindhaugh’s studio guest on Wednesday 21st February between 8pm-10pm UK time.
Having signed for Team Modena to drive their GT1 class Aston Martin DBR9 this season in the Sebring 12 hours, the Le Mans Series, and the Le Mans 24 Hours (pending entry), Liz, the most successful woman driver in American Le Mans Series history, has an exciting schedule ahead of her for 2007. She will kick off her season in March by competing in the American Le Mans Series opener, the 12 Hours of Sebring, hoping for a strong result after last year’s race which saw her win the LMP2 class and finish second overall with Intersport Racing, making her the most successful woman in the 54-year history of the race.
She will also take on the six-round Le Mans Series for the first time in her career and is hopeful of racing in the iconic Le Mans 24 Hours, pending an invitation from the ACO for Team Modena. In addition, 2007 will see her become the first woman to race the Aston Martin DBR9 on the international stage.
