2007 Elf Renault Clio Cup
Jordan to the fore in first major Clio testAndrew Jordan was among the very quickest drivers during the first major group test day ahead of the 2007 Elf Renault Clio Cup.Along with most of the rest of the 40-strong Renault Clio pack, Andrew spent Monday (26 February) at Silverstone and was right on the leading pace in his Team Eurotech entry.Although there was no official timing on the day, the team kept a close watch on the times of all the leading runners and Andrew looked to be the quickest driver for much of the day.By the end of the afternoon, unofficial timing suggested that Andrew's John Guest Speedfit car was a tenth of a second behind the Clio of Ed Pead and on the same time as Martin Byford."We had a very good day and there was no disgrace in being shaded by Ed Pead," said Andrew. "I'm just over the moon that our pre-season testing programme has paid dividends straightaway. We did a race-distance run mid-afternoon and then packed up, as we'd completed our day's work. We're certainly right in the ball park."Andrew's father Mike was equally pleased with the day. "It is always hard to time all the cars on a day like Monday, but as far as we are concerned we're right on the pace of the top guys," said Mike. The next group test for all the Clio Cup cars will be at Brands Hatch on Monday 12 March.Andrew Jordan is supported by John Guest, Pirtek and Bill Gwynne Rally School.
