RAC has today announced that it is to become a Key Partner of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the UK's premier single-manufacturer sports car competition.

Abu Shafi, Director of Corporate Partnerships at RAC, said:"RAC are continually striving to build even stronger relationships with all our partners and this sponsorship with Porsche represents one exciting example of this. The brand values, motoring pedigree and heritage of the Porsche and RAC brands provide a strong platform for such a partnership.
The Porsche Carrera Cup GB has consistently delivered excellent race action and will ensure RAC has a strong profile in Motorsport due to the association with this key motorsport series throughout the year.”
Andy Goss, Managing Director, Porsche Cars Great Britain, commented:"I am delighted that we have formed a partnership with RAC on the Porsche Carrera Cup. Both brands enjoy a strong motorsport pedigree and understand the customer's desire for a truly rewarding driving experience. The Porsche Carrera Cup is the ideal promotional platform for both our companies."
The Porsche Carrera Cup takes place alongside the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Britain's leading race circuits and features the Porsche 997-model 911 GT3 Cup Cars, which are all built to the same race specification.
12 teams and 23 cars currently compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB which takes place over 10 rounds (two races per meeting) between 1st April and 14th October 2007. The 2006 championship was won by Team Parker Racing's Damien Faulkner, who also secured the title in 2005.
