Scandinavian Champ Joins Formula Master

Denmark’s Kasper Andersen, the 2004 Scandinavian champion of Formula Renault 2000, will compete in the inaugural International Formula Master (IFM) season with J.D. Motorsport.

Andersen completes the team’s IFM line-up alongside New Zealander Chris Van der Drift and Claudio Cantelli Jr from Italy. “At the moment I’m counting on a top three for sure and hoping to win!” said Andersen, who started racing single-seaters in 2003. “I’m in a good position to do that. I was very fast at the end of the season last year and I’m sure this year is going to be just as good.”The Danish driver is already familiar with over half of the circuits and is looking forward to racing the Formula S2000, the Series’ N.Technology single-seater race car, at IFM’s first race in Valencia on 20 May.

“It’s a very nice car,” said the 22-year-old. “Giorgio Pantano, the IFM Development Driver, was very positive about it and it looks very aerodynamic and professional.”J.D. Motorsport Team manager, Roberto Cavallari is equally upbeat about continuing his collaboration with Andersen. “In the last three races last year Kasper had the best results of all the other four drivers in front of him,” he said. “He improved a lot in the end of the year. I hope he will start immediately fast and not wait a long time!“I think the level of the driver in this Series is also good, like Cecotto, Llobell and Isohella. Every day there’s a new driver in the entry lists but I think we have a good team.”For profiles of the latest drivers, please visit the media area at www.formulamaster.net
