Motorsport student joins Carrera Cup
Stuart Wallace is the latest motorsport student from Myerscough College to be awarded a work placement with the Porsche Cars GB race team. Wallace (18) will spend the Carrera Cup race weekends working on the VIP car entered by Porsche Cars GB.The work placement has been made available by Porsche Cars GB for the third year running in support of its membership of the Automotive Manufacturers' Racing Association Ltd. “We are pleased to again support the college and give Stuart the chance to spend the race weekends working with the team,” says Marion Barnaby, motorsport co-ordinator for Porsche Cars GB. Wallace, from Lincolnshire, is taking a foundation degree in motorsport and his placement will be overseen by Philip Boland, manager of motorsport operations at Lancashire's Myerscough College. When not studying, Stuart competes as a rally co-driver in a Peugeot 205GTi.Adam Pearson, the student who took the place in 2005, later joined leading Carrera Cup team Red Line Racing in a fulltime position. Meanwhile, 2006 student Ross Clements will return to the Porsche Cars GB team to work as part of the squad during 2007 race weekends.
