Motul endorsed at the highest level

High-performance lubricants range passes its BTCC test with flying colours

Power and Performance Products (Triple P) gave aftermarket customers and general motorists a glimpse of Motul's high-performance lubrication capabilities last weekend when, as the official UK distributor, it kicked off its supply agreement with a team that is racing in Britain's biggest and most competitive motor racing series: the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).

Through Power and Performance Products, Motul has become the official lubricant partner to the newly-formed A-Tech Motorsport team that is running a brace of latest-specification Alfa Romeo 156s in the BTCC this season.

The cars raced for the first time before a crowd of 30,000 spectators at Brands Hatch racing circuit in Kent last weekend and were using numerous products from Motul's 300V high-performance range which is available to the public from Power and Performance Products.

The Motul products on the highly-tuned racing machines of A-Tech drivers David Pinkney and Richard Marsh performed superbly in the heat of competition and ensured that team principal, Julian Griffin, enjoyed peace of mind when it came to engine, gearbox and braking reliability.

Power and Performance Products sales and business manager, Martyn Pearson, said:"There is no better arena in which you can show the reliability of a product than the BTCC because it is a series where performance is absolutely everything.

"Motul is a brand with a rich motor racing pedigree and when the opportunity came up to become the official lubricants supplier to A-Tech and to illustrate to the aftermarket and our existing customers just what the products are capable of, I had no hesitation. This is a great exercise in brand awareness and will show motorists that they can have the same high performance products as the professionals use on the race track."

The 2007 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship calendar consists of ten rounds and each meeting regularly attracts a crowd in excess of 30,000 people. The Motul-backed A-Tech Alfas will next be in action on April 21/22 at Rockingham Motor Speedway in Northamptonshire.
