F3000 in Vallelunga - RACE 2

DANIELSSON AND ELK MOTORSPORT STORM TO VICTORYAlx Danielsson immediately recovered from his disappointing race 1 in Vallelunga, by dominatingrace 2 of Euroseries 3000, also valuable for the Italian championship, with his rookie team ElkMotorsport. The Swedish, sixth this morning after an unlucky start, won his first race in thechampionship. Davide Rigon finished second by 8"590 seconds. The last spot of the Romanpodium in the afternoon race went to Oliver Martini: the RC Motorsport driver stayed at thebeginning of the race in front of his Minardi colleague, who finally went past at the sixth lap,thanks to Martini's mistake under braking.

This result means Martini is leading the championship standings (15 points) by just one pointahead of Rigon (14). Danielsson is third in the championship table with 10 points.At the start, with the top eight positions reversed on the grid, Merchan and Benanni, starting onthe first row, were passed by Luis Razia, who took the lead after having started from fourth place.The Fisichella team's Brazilian was then punished with a drive through because of jump start,leaving the lead to an aggressive Danielsson. At the back, Arabadzhiev (Auto Sport) had a fiercebattle with Merchan, who finished with a good sixth place despite a spin after a slight collisionwith the Bulgarian driver himself. Arabadzhiev then attacked Nunez, managing in the end toovertake him and taking fourth place.

The second event of the championship will take place in Misano on the 6th of May.
