Mini’s Travel to Norfolk

For Great British Racing

Round 2 of the Dunlop Mini Se7en and Mini Miglia Challenges at Snetterton

On Sunday 29th April, the Snetterton race circuit near Norwich will reverberate to the sound of nearly fifty classic racing Mini’s as the circuit hosts the next rounds of the Dunlop Mini Se7en and Mini Miglia Challenges as part of the Dunlop Great and British Motorsport Festival.

Easter weekend saw the 10 round series for the UK’s longest running single make championship get underway at Silverstone.  In the Mini Miglia race, for 1300cc powered Mini’s, Andrew took the chequered flag to score the first win of the 2007 season but only after a race long battle for the lead which saw the top five cars covered by 1.021 seconds at the finish in a ‘classic’ Mini Miglia finish.

The 1000cc engined Mini Se7en’s Max Hunter took the win ahead of reigning champion Andrew Deviny and James Winnifrith in an equally action packed 12 lap race on the Silverstone National circuit.

The long sweeping corners of the 1.9-mile Snetterton circuit are a favourite with the majority of the drivers racing in the two championships.  The 2006 races saw Max Hunter take the win in the Se7en’s and he will be looking to emulate that success this weekend to make it two wins out of two starts.

With qualifying for both championships on Saturday, the racing gets underway on Sunday with the 20 minute Mini Se7en race due at 10:25 and the Mini Miglia race just under two hours later and also due to last 20 minutes. A full days racing action is on offer to the racing public with 2 races on Saturday and 11 on Sunday.
