Jordan fired up for BTCC Thruxton

Mike Jordan believes that the next race weekend in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship could be very good for the John Guest-backed Team Eurotech Honda Integra as the series moves to Thruxton (Hampshire) over the weekend of 5/6 May.Thruxton is easily the fastest track on the BTCC schedule, and is famed for producing thrilling races where slipstreaming is common and results are sometimes only decided at the last corner of the last lap.Jordan is particularly keen for a strong showing in rounds seven, eight and nine of the 2007 championship after suffering a torrid day at Thruxton in 2006. "The Integra has always been quick at Thruxton," says Mike. "Last year we had a terrible time with gearbox problems and I was distraught with our performance there last year. I know that the car has great pace and I can't wait to get back to Thruxton."Live coverage of all of Sunday's races at Rockingham will be available on the Setanta Sports satellite programme. The third race of the day will also be broadcast live on ITV3, with the race due to start at 4.50pm. Highlights will run on ITV1 at around 1.30am on Monday 7 May, and on Men & Motors during the evening of Friday 11 May.At the same event, Andrew Jordan will contest the third round of the Renault Elf Clio Cup. It has been a season of mixed fortunes to date for Andrew; he finished a superb second overall at Brands Hatch in the opening round but was forced into retirement on the opening lap at Rockingham after contact with another car broke his Clio's front suspension.Andrew showed excellent pace during his first proper experience of Thruxton during a test day in mid-April and is confident of a good showing over the weekend. "We were well on the pace in testing and I was really pleased to be third fastest. I know what we need to do for qualifying."
