RAC to the Rescue for Thruxton marshals

RAC, sponsors of Team RAC who compete in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, will provide RAC branded overalls for race day marshals at the Thruxton round of the BTCC, on 5th-6th May 2007.

Marshals who visit the RAC trade area on Saturday 5th May at Thruxton, will be able to take part in a 'uniform amnesty' and exchange their old outfits for a new, RAC, ‘RAC to the rescue’  branded overalls.

The activity marks the latest stage in the season-long 'RAC to the rescue' campaign, which provides benefits to enhance the race day experience at all 10 rounds of the BTCC.

Alastair Pegg, RAC Director of Marketing, said: “Marshals are the unsung heroes of the British Touring Car Championship, as without them, the event simply could not take place. Marshals represent the first line of rescue on track, ensuring the safety of drivers and spectators, as well as the smooth running of the races themselves.

"All marshals are volunteers and must purchase their own fireproof overalls, but race circuits eventually take their toll on the outfits. We felt, therefore, that a 'uniform amnesty' would be a good way for RAC to thank marshals for their continued support.

“RAC have many exciting initiatives planned for the ten rounds in2007 so supporters should log onto teamrac.co.uk, look out in the media and at the rounds themselves during the season for details of our activity and how they can take part.”
