Keith Sutton hails Bruno Senna's debut GP2 victoryIn the spring of 1981, at the Brands Hatch circuit in England, a young man from Manchester with a camera was asked by a promising Brazilian racing driver to become his official photographer. The driver was Ayrton Senna, then barely 21 years old, and the photographer was Keith Sutton, aged 22.
The two men's careers blossomed. Ayrton Senna went on to win 41 Grands Prix and three FIA World championships (1988, 1990 and 1991). Keith Sutton founded an agency, Sutton Images, which now leads its rivals in the field of motorsport photography and employs 12 people.
The world of sport was shocked in May 1994 when Ayrton Senna lost his life at the Imola circuit during the San Marino GP. His sister Viviane pledged to keep the fallen champion's memory alive by continuing the work of his Ayrton Senna Foundation. Her son, Bruno Senna, was not deterred from following his late uncle's path into international motorsport.
On May 12, 2007, at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya, Bruno Senna won the Saturday feature race at the second GP2 meeting of the season. Driving for the British-based Arden International team, he made several strong overtaking moves and outclassed an international field to win by more than five seconds. It is Bruno's ambition to go all the way to Formula 1.
When Bruno Senna needed a photographic agency to chart his racing career, he looked no further than Sutton Images. The Towcester-based company supported him when he started racing in Europe in Formula BMW. This year Sutton Images was appointed as Bruno Senna's official photographic agency while he contests the GP2 championship and looks forward to many more racing successes in the coming months and years.
