Two further race wins for Callum Macleod

MACLEOD THE MAGNIFICENT Two further race wins for Callum Macleod sees MOMO’s FF Star extend his Championship lead 19 year-old Callum Macleod from Northampton is maintaining his star status in this year’s National Formula Ford Championship after further searing performances in the cut-and-thrust series at Snetterton on June 2/3.With four wins out of five starts already in the bag, Callum was hell-bent on stretching his impressive 30-point lead in the series, which is considered the breeding ground for motorsport’s future top talent. At the end of the weekend, Callum and his MOMO-backed Jamun Racing team left the Norfolk circuit with a further two wins under their belt, three fastest lap awards - including the first ever 100mph+ racing lap of the circuit - a fourth position, and an extended 50-point championship lead.Race One saw Callum streak from pole position to top podium slot in mercurial fashion, and score his first fastest lap of the weekend, with none of the following pack getting close to challenging him.Race Two produced high drama as Callum was rammed by a hard-charging competitor on the opening lap as they diced for the lead.  As a result, he dropped all the way to a lowly 14th, but had plenty of overtaking practice as he sliced his way magnificently through the pack to finish the race fourth overall - a huge achievement in such a competitive series.  It was during this run that Callum streaked to the first-ever 100mph racing lap of Snetterton. To cap a great weekend, the third and final race saw Callum back to his now customary winning ways and yet another entry in the record books after completing a trio of fastest laps. Callum and the team now have a well-deserved breather until the next championship rounds at Brands Hatch on July 14/15, the scene of his race victory in the series back in April.
