Fans, drivers, teams and sponsors are set to benefit from the groundbreaking initiative, with Renault Sport UK grasping the opportunity to maximise its technological facilities by reaching an even larger fanbase.The Renaultsport website currently receives more than 30,000 unique visitors each month and the added attraction of watching ‘as-live’ race action is sure to see traffic increase at the online home of the Clio Cup.ITV Sport produces the footage, which features full race commentary and graphics, as seen during the live coverage on satellite and freeview channel Setanta Sports. In addition, three cars are fitted with on-board cameras to give a driver’s eye view of the race.A broadband connection speed is recommended, while the latest Adobe Flash Player is also required. A total of 59 cars have been sold in the UK to date, with 43 entering the Championship – a record for the ELF Renault Clio Cup since its UK debut in 1991.This year a new qualifying format ahs been used, combining timed qualifying with two qualification races, to trim the field to the number of permitted starters for Sunday’s point-scoring race.
