Are you Britains next Lewis Hamilton?

After watching Lewis Hamilton take his maiden victory at the Grand Prix of Canada in only his sixth Formula One race last Sunday, now is the time to stop dreaming and start acting!

Racecar readers are invited to take part in the hunt for Britain’s next racing sensation, in a bid to win the ultimate prize: a fully-funded drive in next year’s Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup worth £80.000.

Vauxhall‘s VXR Racing Driver of the Year competition will catapult one lucky winner into the glamorous and exciting world of motorsport.

In just over a week, more than 800 people have visited www.vxrdriver.co.uk to register for the unique opportunity before the closing date of 25 July 2007. The first of three stages is a short quiz, taking each applicant through ten motorsport-based questions.

After a series of karting trials throughout the country, twelve finalists will compete against each other in the grand final, in which both physical abilities as well as media skills will be put to a test.

The winning protégé will be provided with guidance, training and support by Vauxhall throughout the 2008 season; a considerable asset considering the manufacturer won 13 of the 18 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) titles available since 2001.
