Jordan ready for Oulton Park challenge

Mike Jordan will maintain his bid for a race win and more podium finishes as the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Oulton Park over the weekend of 23/24 June. The John Guest-backed Team Eurotech Honda Integra will tackle the demanding Cheshire track in three more action-packed BTCC races, and Mike says that the swooping parkland track is one of his favourites on the schedule."I can’t wait to get there and I absolutely love racing at Oulton Park," said Mike. Oulton is not a sanitised circuit and it always focuses your mind. I should think everyone on the BTCC grid is looking forward to going to Oulton.""At Oulton we go through a lot of brakes. It’s very hard on pads and discs. At most other circuits, the Honda Integra is incredibly light on brakes, but at Oulton you really do work your brakes hard." On each lap, the drivers brake hard five times for the corners at Old Hall, Cascades, Island, Knickerbrook and Lodge as the lap twists around the rolling Cheshire countryside. After a superb weekend at Croft last time out, when he claimed his second podium finish in consecutive race weekends, Mike heads to Cheshire as the leader of the BTCC Independents' Trophy. He knows that he faces a tough challenge from the Team RAC BMWs in the category, but he raced the Integra onto the Oulton Park podium a year ago, and that's the first target this time around.Live coverage of all of Sunday's races at Oulton Park will be available on the Setanta Sports satellite programme, starting just before mid-day. The third race of the day will also be broadcast live on ITV3, with the race due to start at 4.50pm.At the same event, Andrew Jordan will contest the fifth round of the Renault Elf Clio Cup, and will be bidding for another podium after an excellent start to the season. Andrew was frustrated to be forced out on the first lap at Croft last time out, so is determined to be challenging for a podium finish at Oulton Park.
