The Safe Speed official Scrap Speed Cameras petition closes on Tuesday 26th June.
Over 25,000 have signed the petition so far, making it the 7th most signed on the 10 Downing Street web site out of 7,700. It's in the top 0.1%; 99.9% of the petitions have fewer signatures.
Safe Speed research indicates with considerable certainty that speed cameras, and associated policies have made road safety worse, mainly due to over 40 adverse side effects.
Our adverse side effects report is available at:http://www.safespeed.org.uk/sideeffects.html
The petition is of course a centrepiece of Safe Speed's Scrap Speed Cameras Week.
Paul Smith, founder of SafeSpeed.org.uk, said: "It's perfectly clear that speed camera policy has failed. With Department for Transport running and hiding it's up to the public to make their voice heard. I urge every concerned motorist to sign the petition before 26th June. Visit: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/scrapcamto sign today."
"All our speed cameras are in the wrong places - they should be in the scrap yard."
