Press conference and photo call:===============================

11:30am Saturday June 23rd:

Briton's Protection,Great Bridgewater Street,ManchesterM1 5LE

Press, TV, Radio and Photographers should attend.

Speakers include Peter Roberts, the man behind the famous 1.8 million signature petition against roads pricing.

Paul Smith, founder of SafeSpeed.org.uk, will give a short presentation at the press conference and will say:

"It's Labour's scheme to price the poor off the roads and it won't even work to cut congestion."

"Department for Transport says 'doing nothing is not an option' but we're only in this mess because they have been doing nothing for decades. And now they want to use road pricing as an excuse for doing practically nothing for another decade."

"They say that congestion costs business £20 billion per annum, and it's set to rise. But one function of business is to minimise costs - so isn't the £20 billion costs of congestion already a price on the roads? And if business can't reduce those costs now, why might they be able to when they pay more tax to use the roads?"

"The proposed road pricing schemes will cost countless billions and the only beneficiaries will be the technology suppliers."
