Harvey scores 50th Carrera Cup podium
Tim Harvey scored his 50th podium finish in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Oulton Park today (24 June) when he finished third in round ten of the championship for Red Line Racing. Since the Carrera Cup GB was introduced at the start of the 2003 season, Harvey has started 72 races and has scored podium finishes in 50 of them. His first podium finish was when he raced the VIP car on his debut in the series at Donington Park in September 2003. Since then, he has twice finished championship runner-up and once took fourth in the year-end standings. In 2007, he is again chasing the title and currently lies second in the championship after 10 of the season's 20 races."It was good to get my 50th podium at Oulton Park," said Harvey. "Once again the pace was unbelievable and the lap times back that up. I've never driven this hard in the Carrera Cup."Third place at Oulton Park on Sunday marked his seventh podium finish in 10 races to date this year. His next target is to score two more podiums to equal the tally of 52 podiums recorded by Richard Westbrook, currently the most successful driver in Carrera Cup GB history.
