as F1 fever hits France
Bridgestone e-reporter finalist to report on GP2 Series from Magny-Cours As the Formula One World Championship returns to Europe for the French Grand Prix this coming weekend (29 June – 1 July), Bridgestone’s e-reporter initiative for talented, young, pan-European journalists will be making a come back following a five week break in the GP2 Series calendar.
Michael Scott, from Addlestone, UK, is the second finalist as part of the 2007 e-reporter competition who will be gaining invaluable experience as a journalist by writing GP2 race reports for Bridgestone during a Formula One race weekend. Scott will be at Magny-Cours in the F1 and GP2 paddocks, interviewing drivers and submitting copy to be published on the Bridgestone website, bridgestone.eu/e-reporter.
Bridgestone, exclusive tyre supplier to the GP2 Series, has also confirmed the e-reporter finalists due to attend Silverstone, Nürburgring and Hungaroring – making it four consecutive races for Bridgestone e-reporter. Out of the seven finalists selected this year for the contest, participants from Malta, Hungary, the Netherlands, and the UK are still to showcase their journalistic talent on-event at a race weekend. Aspiring sports journalist Tom Hornsby, from Oxford, UK, was in Barcelona (11-13 May) to kick-start the e-reporter season, and witnessed driver Bruno Senna (Arden International) take his first ever race win in GP2.
Hornsby impressed his media counterparts in the F1 paddock and has now set the standard for remaining finalists. The overall winner of the 2007 Bridgestone e-reporter competition will be announced at the GP2 end of season finale in Valencia.
