Children’s Charity’s Official F1™ Party
With the kind permission of Bernie Ecclestone the official F1™ Party will be hosted by Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity for the third year running.
This year the Party is supported by the British Grand Prix’s title sponsor, Santander, and will take place at The Worx, Parsons Green, London, SW6 on Wednesday 4 July at 7.30pm.
Confirmed guests include: Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton and team principal Ron Dennis, Giancarlo Fisichella and Heikki Kovalainen from the ING Renault F1™ team, the charity’s patrons Tess Daly and Vernon Kay as well as Geri Halliwell, Rupert Everett, Thandie Newton, Tamzin Outhwaite, Lemar and Robert Kazinsky.
This glamorous evening will celebrate the hospital’s relationship with Formula One and raise vital funds to build a new Heart and Lung Centre.
“I’m really looking forward to going to one of the most glamorous, exclusive and important evenings in the annual F1™ calendar,” said Lewis. “Alongside Bernie Ecclestone, Santander and the Formula One™ community, I am extremely proud to be lending my support towards this immensely deserving cause.”
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity is Mr Ecclestone’s official charity for the British Grand Prix and every year many of the hospital’s patients are invited to enjoy the Event from the Paddock, where they get to meet their F1™ heroes.
High profile guests have been exclusively invited to The Worx to enjoy food designed by Gordon Ramsay and chefs from his stable of restaurants, music by celebrity DJ Michael Adam and an acoustic set by Jamie Scott and The Town.
On the night there will be an auction with money-can’t-buy lots on offer. Highlights include a lap before the start of the British GP in the Santander Abbey 2-seater Grand Prix car driven by Damon Hill; two temporary positions at the Etihad Aldar Spyker Formula One™ team at this year’s Santander British Grand Prix – a once in a lifetime chance to enjoy work experience in an F1™ pit stop – a 1:4 scale model of the 2007 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4 22 signed by current world champion Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, as well as a limited edition of ‘F1™ - The Opus’, signed by the sixteen living Formula One™ world champions.
Dr Allan Goldman, cardiac intensive care consultant at Great Ormond Street, explains: “You could compare our current facilities to driving an F1™ car - but on a gravel track. With the support of the 2007 Formula 1™ Santander British Grand Prix we aspire to drive on a track as high quality as Silverstone.”
