South coast rally driver Steve Hendy has confirmed that the remainder of his 2007 programme will be overseas with events in Holland and Belgium on the agenda.
“We are really looking forward to rallying the Hendy Group Focus WRC in Europe where the events are top quality, the welcome outstanding and the competition fierce,’’ said Steve.
“We have been extremely successful on our European events in the past and I’m delighted that we can now put together a four-event programme which will see us head across the channel regularly from now until October.’’
This week Hendy, and co-driver Aled Davies, head to Holland for the Exotic Green Rally, formerly known as BHV Expo before three events in Belgium.
In September they plan to contest the Omloop Flanders and in October both the Haspengouw and Sombreffe are on the agenda.
With support from tyre giant Hankook, the pair will be contesting the events in the Focus 2000 Steve took delivery of earlier this year.
With success in Europe with a podium finish on the Monteburg Rallysprint and class success on the RBS International Manx Rally, Steve said the car was proving perfect for asphalt rallies.
“Whatever the conditions, the car has performed faultlessly and the Hankook tyres have been well tested in wet and dry conditions giving us tremendous confidence that we have a really strong package for these forthcoming events,’’ said Steve.
