From a field of over 30 cars, it was an excellent showing for the three leading Carrera Cup GB racers in the high-profile international series."I just had to keep on working," said Sutton. "The car changed a lot as the rubber went down through the race, but I managed to get a bit of a break from the group behind. I really enjoyed the whole experience."One place behind Sutton at the flag was Harvey (Red Line Racing), after a race-long battle with Frenchman Olivier Maximin and Kane. "It’s been a real pleasure to do the Supercup race and it shows just how strong the Supercup is. My car came good in the middle of the race and I managed to get past Maximin."Kane ran under an entry for Hisaq Competition, with the car tended by his regular crew from Motorbase Performance. After some set-up problems in qualifying, Kane was able to up his pace in the race. "We made the car better and it was certainly quicker. But it’s all about qualifying here," said Kane. He got ahead of Maximin late in the race to hold 14th place, but lost time on oil on the last lap and slipped back a place. Now, Harvey, Sutton and Kane will continue their battle for the Carrera Cup GB title at Donington Park next weekend (14/15 July) and will be back in the cars for pre-race testing on Thursday (12 July).
