Donington next stop for Jordan

Mike Jordan is confident that he will be challenging for more podium finishes when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Donington Park over the weekend of 14/15 July.Having scored podium finishes in each of the three most recent BTCC weekends, Mike says that Donington Park – his home track – offers another excellent opportunity to run right in the thick of the BTCC leading pack. The John Guest-backed Team Eurotech Honda Integra will arrive at Donington with Mike leading the BTCC Independents' Trophy and aiming for overall podium finishes."Donington is one of my favourite all-time circuits," says Mike, who now lives in Lichfield, only half an hour from Donington. "We qualified fourth at Donington last year and the car was well on the pace. But I think it's even better this year. I have great hopes for Donington."The circuit layout should suit the Honda Integra very well. "I think the car will be great there. Donington has a lot of fast and flowing corners and only one really slow corner," says Mike.Donington will also be the perfect place to be in the leading pack, as television coverage of the BTCC will step up a gear as it returns to a regular live Sunday afternoon slot on ITV1 for Donington and the rest of the second half of the season. The third BTCC race will be broadcast live and is scheduled to start at 2.50pm.At the same event, Andrew Jordan will contest the next round of the Renault Elf Clio Cup, and will be bidding for a return to the podium. Donington is one of the tracks that Andrew has prior experience of, and so he is aiming for a strong performance in the heat on Saturday afternoon and the all-important final, which is due to start at mid-day on Sunday.
