The hunt continues .....

to find Britains next racing driver talent

Only seven days to go until the hammer falls and the decision on who will qualify in the VXR Racing Driver of the Year competition will be announced.

Following the huge success of Hertfordshire-born Formula One star Lewis Hamilton, hundreds from the area have been entering the competition in a bid to follow into their local heroes’ footsteps.

Vauxhall’s campaign has seen more than 7,450 entrants to date from all around the country, with over 770 from Greater London alone, reflecting the immense impact Hamilton has had on the community.

The contest has also been highly popular in the North of England and the Midlands, with a total of 2,200 registries to date. The two areas have previously proven to be a good stepping-stone for any aspiring racing driver, being the home to touring car champion James Thompson and double Formula One World Champion, Nigel Mansell.

The VXR Racing Driver of the Year competition will open the door to a whole new world of fun, adrenalin and glamour for one fortunate applicant. The chosen one will have beaten 2,000 fellow competitors in a series of karting races, physical trainings and Media coaching sessions and will go on to race in the 2008 season of the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup.

The competition is open online on http://www.vxrdriver.co.uk/. Deadline is 25 July 2007. Anyone over the age of 21 who does not hold a valid racing driver license is entitled to enter.
