Chevy Day at the Brickyard

INDIANAPOLIS, Friday, July 20, 2007 – The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Chevrolet again will kick off festivities for the 14th annual Allstate 400 at the Brickyard with Chevy Day at the Brickyard on Friday, July 27.

The fan-friendly event features NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver autograph sessions, entertainment, Chevrolet vehicles on display and much more. Chevy Day at the Brickyard will take place throughout the day at various locations in the IMS infield.

All Chevy Day at the Brickyard activities are free and included with $10 gate admission. Children 5 and under are admitted free.

Featured activities during Chevy Day at the Brickyard include question-and-answer sessions hosted by television and radio personality Riki Rachtman on the Chevy Stage in the Hall of Fame Museum lot. Autograph sessions take place in the Plaza Pavilion and feature the following Chevy drivers and personalities (schedule subject to change):

•9 a.m. – J.J. Yeley, Kyle Busch, Jeff Burton

•10 a.m. – Jimmie Johnson, Casey Mears, Clint Bowyer

•11 a.m. – Kevin Harvick, Richard Childress, Regan Smith

To participate in the autograph sessions, fans must have a wristband for a designated session. Wristband distribution begins at 8 a.m. in the Bombardier Learjet Pagoda Plaza. For each session, the first 200 people in line ages 18 or older with no more than two children per adult, will receive a wristband.

Country music star Tracy Lawrence will perform a concert at noon on the Coca-Cola Stage in the Bombardier Learjet Pagoda Plaza. Lawrence’s current single “Find Out Who Your Friends Are,” reached No. 1 in June.

From 9 a.m.-noon, fans can watch their favorite NEXTEL Cup Series personalities compete in the RC Driver RC Challenge in the Flag Lot directly north of the Bombardier Learjet Pagoda Plaza.

Other exciting activities are occurring in the Hall of Fame Museum parking lot as a part of Chevy Fan Fest. The latest Chevrolet products will be on display, including the Motor Trend Truck of the Year, the Chevy Silverado, and your favorite Chevrolet NEXTEL Cup race cars. The Jolie Holliday Band will be performing live throughout the day on the Chevy Stage.

A limited number of fans age 21 and over can test drive select Chevy vehicles on the IMS road course. The first 100 people to take a test drive will receive a voucher for a Chevy “Hot Lap” ride around the famed IMS track with a Chevy NASCAR driver, weather permitting.

Public gates are open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. July 27 with practice for the 14th annual Allstate 400 at the Brickyard from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.
