Hungarian Bridgestone ereporter finalist

to report on GP2 at home Grand Prix

Bridgestone’s  pan-European  e-reporter  initiative,  for  aspiring  sports  writers,  continues  to pave  the  way  for  those  with  journalistic  talent  as  Hungarian  finalist  Andras  Kittka  will  be attending his home Grand Prix at the Hungaroring in Budapest this weekend (3 – 5 August).

With the GP2 Series as a support event, the Hungarian Formula One Grand Prix will be the fifth time this season that a Bridgestone e-reporter has attended a race weekend to put their  writing  skills  to  the  test  as  they  report  on  GP2  for  the  Bridgestone  website  – www.bridgestone.eu/e-reporter.

Remaining finalists for the 2007 competition include Peter Hodges, from the UK, who will be attending the Italian Grand Prix, and Laura Postma, from the Netherlands,  who will cover both  GP2  races  at  Spa-Francorchamps.  Spa  will  be  the last race weekend of the year in which  GP2  supports  Formula  One.  The  GP2  Series  then  heads  to  Valencia  for  a  stand alone race weekend and the end of season finale on 28-30 September.

Bridgestone  e-reporter  finalist  Jake  Schembri,  from  Malta,  commented  on  his  recent experience at the European Grand Prix (20-22 July): “My weekend at the Nürburgring was incredible! I loved every minute of it! For journalistic exposure in the world of motorsport the e-reporter competition is a great concept and one that all young journalists wanting to get into this field should aspire to. “A huge thank you goes to Bridgestone for conceiving this competition and giving us young motorsport writers a launching platform.

At risk of sounding over-confident, being involved in this  field  of  work  is  what  I  feel  I  was  born  to  do.  Thanks  to  Bridgestone,  my  career’s metaphorical wheels have now been set in motion.” Race reports and diary entries from all of the 2007 Bridgestone e-reporter finalists can be found at bridgestone.eu/e-reporter.

The  overall  winner  of  Bridgestone  e-reporter,  who  demonstrates  the  most journalistic flair while  reporting  from  the  GP2  paddock,  will  be  awarded  a  state-of-the-art  laptop;  further invaluable    work    experience;    and    a    trip    to    attend    a    Bridgestone    safety    event (www.safetyatheart.eu).  The  winner  of  the  pan-European  2007  Bridgestone  e-reporter competition will be announced in Valencia at the last GP2 round of the season.
