with support of Trawsdir Caravan and Camping Park
Rising Welsh rally driver Elfyn Evans has been given a boost in his Fiesta Sporting Trophy efforts with news of a new sponsor for the remainder of the season.
The Trawsdir Caravan and Camping Park has pledged its support for the 18 year old who is currently fourth overall in the prestigious championship.
Trawsdir is a five star family run and maintained touring and camping park, situated on the Welsh coast just north of Barmouth and is a vital supporter of Elfyn’s efforts as the season unfolds.
“We are delighted to add the Trawsdir name onto The Sun Virgin Money Fiesta,’’ said Elfyn, who is son of Welsh rally legend Gwyndaf Evans. “A recent outing as course car in Wales was the perfect way to show off the new sponsor.’’
The youngster is currently gearing up for the next round of the championship, the Mewla Rally which takes place on military roads in mid-Wales.
“We are back onto asphalt for the Mewla Rally and the course car outing on similar roads was the perfect preparation for us to be making our own route notes and learn a little more about the layout of the area,’’ said Elfyn who will once again be co-driven by Richard Edwards.
The 18 year old from Dinas Mawddwy said he is now looking forward to the event, due to be held on Sunday August 26. “All the rallies in the championship are tough and this will be no exception but our priority as ever is to bring the car home in one piece and drive a steady rally from start to finish.’’
In addition to The Sun and Virigin Money, Elfyn is also backed by Mile End Service Station, Garwood Motorsport Services, Trawsdir Caravan and Camping Park and the Trefeddian Hotel at Aberdyfi. The car has been built and prepared by Gwyndaf Evans in Dolgellau.
