Mike Jordan believes that the next three races in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship could be some of the best yet as the action switches to the famous Brands Hatch circuit in Kent over the weekend of 18/19 August.The John Guest-backed Team Eurotech Honda Integra will head to Brands with Mike determined to regain overall podium form after a rare mechanical failure cost him ground in the championship battle last time out at Snetterton.But now the focus is on Brands, where the 1.2-mile Indy circuit is famed for delivering high drama and exciting racing. "Brands is just made for touring cars. You always look forward to going to Brands and I love racing the car there," says Mike. "You know it's going to be a great crowd. We had one bad race at Brands at the start of the year when we got spun out along Bottom Straight, but we should be in good shape next weekend."Despite two non-scores at Snetterton, Mike still leads the BTCC Independents' Trophy heading for Brands. But his lead has been cut to just five points by Mat Jackson, while Tom Onslow-Cole and Colin Turkington are chasing hard in the latest BMWs.For the BTCC teams, it is a return to where the season started back in April and Mike is looking for three strong finishes. To date, he has scored points in 17 out of the 21 races this season. The crankshaft failure at Snetterton is the car's only mechanical failure this season.More good news for the BTCC fans is that ITV will be significantly expanding its coverage of the races at Brands Hatch, with live slots on both ITV4 and ITV1.
ITV4 will be on air from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, showing a full re-run of race one followed by live coverage of race two. ITV1 will be on air from 2.50pm to 4.20pm with its regular round-up plus live coverage of race three. That means a total of three and a half hours' airtime on ITV's channels for the Brands races.Live coverage of all of Sunday's races at Brands will also be available on the Setanta Sports satellite programme, starting from 10am.
