Dunlop Tour 24 and Britcar charity run

DUNLOP ‘TOUR 24’ APPEALS FOR PASSIONATE CAR OWNERS

Driving enthusiasts and motorsport fans are being called on to play their part in 24 hours of non-stop British racing whilst simultaneously raising money for charity. Dunlop Tyres is inviting drivers to take part in ‘Tour 24’ where a colourful convoy of cars will make the journey together from TyreFort to Silverstone in celebration of the Britcar 24 Hours event.

A special Britcar ticket deal will be made available for the Tour 24 drivers, whereby participants can purchase a weekend ticket for £15.00 (normal price £35.00) of which £5.00 will be donated to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The ticket price will also include breakfast at TyreFort, a Grandstand seat, an exclusive parking area at Silverstone, the use of the Café Dunlop hospitality and a Dunlop goodie bag with commemorative sticker.

James Bailey of Dunlop said: “Dunlop Tour 24 will be an exciting event whereby a visually electrifying melange of cars will start festivities with a tour from our home at TyreFort to the Silverstone race circuit, taking in some famous motoring locations on a petrolhead’s pilgrimage.

“We expect to welcome everything from Porsche and Lotus to Jaguar and BMW as we celebrate the start of a fantastic event on the British motorsport calendar and raise money for a worthy cause which is very close to Dunlop’s heart.”

Barbara Welford, executive campaign manager for Birmingham Children’s Hospital said: “The Dunlop Tour 24 sounds like a fantastic event and we are delighted to have been nominated as the beneficiary.  Good luck to everyone taking part and thank you for all the support”.

Drivers will congregate at TyreFort on the morning of Saturday 8th September and be treated to breakfast and some special, surprise giveaways before hitting the road.

The Britcar 24 hour race at Silverstone aims to become Britain’s answer to the famous Le Mans event held each year in Northern France. Already the UK’s premier endurance race, the event pits seasoned racing professionals against enthusiastic amateurs.

James Bailey added: “There’s nothing like the Britcar 24 hour race in the British motorsport calendar. It’s an event that really tests the drivers and their cars to the extreme, whilst the event also generates a real family atmosphere.

“Dunlop has a lengthy heritage in motorsport and we are pleased to be supporting this burgeoning event. We hope that Dunlop Tour 24 will encourage even more people to get involved and feel as though they are playing a genuine part in the action.”

To register for the event, people should visit: driversknow.co.uk/tour24 and complete the online registration form.
