Another very real chance of victory awaits Mike Jordan in the next three races in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at the challenging Knockhill circuit in Scotland over the weekend of 1/2 September. The John Guest-backed Team Eurotech Honda Integra will head north with Mike still angry at being knocked out of the lead of the most recent race at Brands Hatch. Italian Fabrizio Giovanardi was penalised for the mistake that pushed the Honda out of the race lead when everything was looking good for victory. However, Jordan is now focusing on the difficult moorland track and the next three races, rounds 25, 26 and 27 of the 30-race season. Having run right on the pace of the leading cars a year ago, Mike knows that he has the pace to win. However, he also predicts that the BTCC action will be frenetic at the tight Scottish track, even though the grid is likely to be smaller than usual due to the multi-car accident that decimated the field in the first race at Brands Hatch. But with all the big players heading north, and the overall championship battle finely-balanced, it should be another spectacular weekend in the BTCC. "You would always expect Knockhill to be the sort of place where the action and drama will kick off," he says. " I think it will be a very action packed race meeting. It breeds that sort of racing."Jordan has enjoyed a lot of success at Knockhill over the last decade and rates the Dunfermline track as one of his favourites. "I love it at Knockhill," he says. "I like the fact that it's not all sanitised with miles of gravel traps."More good news for the BTCC fans is that ITV will have significantly expanded coverage of the races at Knockhill, with live slots on both ITV4 and ITV1.
ITV4 will be on air from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, showing a full re-run of race one followed by live coverage of race two. ITV1 will be on air from 2.30pm to 4pm with its regular round-up plus live coverage of race three. That means a total of three and a half hours' airtime on ITV's channels for the Knockhill races.
