Ex Lotus Formula 1 driver Martin Donnelly will race a class A Lotus Elise in the Lotus on Track Elise Trophy at the MSVR Blast in the Park at Donington Park on 1st-2nd September.
Donnelly made his F1 debut for the Arrows team at the French GP in 1989 and the following year drove for Lotus, alongside Derek Warwick. A horrific accident at Jerez, which he was very lucky to survive, ended his promising Formula 1 career.His presence is a very exciting addition to the grid for round 7 of the 2007 Elise Trophy series, where we continue with our 100% record with another full entry list of 36 cars.The MSVR Blast in the Park is headlined by the penultimate rounds of the 2007 Visma Formula Palmer Audi Championship and the Lotus on Track Elise Trophy. Also on the bill is the Porsche Open and Club Series, Powertec Radical Challenge, Easytrack Production BMW Championship, York Fitness Post Historic Touring Car Championship, Ibis Packaging Classic Group One Touring Car Championship, T Cars, BARC/CTCRC Pre '93 Touring Car Series and the BARC/CTCRC Classic Saloon & Historic Touring Car Series.The Donington Park races will be followed by visits to Spa Francorchamps (12-14th October) and Brands Hatch (10-11th November).
