ANDERSEN QUICKEST IN TWO-DAY IFM LAUSITZRING TEST

After its 11th and 12th round at Oschersleben last weekend, International Formula Master (IFM) headed to the famous Lausitzring for a two day test, which saw J.D. Motorsport’s Kasper Andersen setting the overall fastest lap time at the German circuit.

The Dane registered a lap time of 1:36.271, which showed he is back to speed and well prepared for the Series’ next rounds at Brands Hatch in September.

IFM’s official test days saw 16 cars participating. Current IFM Series leader, Jerome D’Ambrosio (Cram Competition), only took part in yesterday’s meeting, in which he recorded the second quickest lap time.

The IFM field took full advantage of the good weather in Germany and had a smooth testing session without any complications on a dry track. The Series is now heading to Brands Hatch for its next rounds on 22 and 23 September 2007.

Kasper Andersen, J.D. Motorsport

“I had a really smooth run after our problems at Oschersleben and we ensured that we are now fully prepared for Brands Hatch in a few weeks. We didn’t want to run any risks and have checked the car inside out.

“I raced around Lausitzring before so I knew the track really well. It’s a great track for testing because it has both high and low speed corners.

“I now look forward to race at Brands Hatch for the first time. I’ve never been to the track before but I have seen it on TV and I’ve played it on a computer game. It looks a lot of fun.”
