Juan Pablo Garcia confirmed for A1Mexico

Just before heading to the Netherlands for the first round of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, Julio Jauregui, Executive Vice-president of the A1 Team Mexico announced the first rookie driver who will drive for Mexico in the prestigious international series: Juan Pablo Garcia Samano.

         "Juan Pablo (Garcia) is the first rookie driver called by A1 Team Mexico for the 2007-2008 season. We are very happy with his performance during the two testing sessions we had in England with several Mexican drivers," Jauregui said.

         "In the Netherlands, Juan Pablo will be with us during the race weekend to learn from (Salvador) Duran and the team, as part of a comprehensive development for the season. His first opportunity to drive the car during this season will be in the event at Brno, in Czech Republic at the middle of October," he said.

        Juan Pablo Garcia has participated this year in the British F3, National Class and he is already at the Zandvoort track with the team in preparation for his next performance in the World Cup of Motorsport and in an phone interview he said: "I want to thank A1 Team Mexico and Julio Jauregui for inviting me this weekend as part of the team."

        "I am very excited because now I am with the team as a rookie driver and this is a great opportunity for my racing career. I am looking forward to drive the car. I am already at the track to start learning and working with the team. It is going to be an enjoyable weekend, and I am going to get as much as possible out of it so I can work at Brno in the best way possible," the Mexican driver said.
