British Grand Prix ticket sales

off to a flying start after Hamilton success

British F1 sensation Lewis Hamilton is one step  closer to being crowned 2007 FIA FORMULA 1™ World Champion after  winning the Japanese Grand Prix  on Sunday (30 September).

His spectacular  performances  continue  to  capture  the  imagination  of  the  British  public  and  more than  10,000  fans  have  already  booked  their  tickets  for  the  2008  FORMULA  1™  Santander British Grand Prix, taking place on 4-6 July, representing twice as many fans compared with the end of September last year.

Richard  Phillips,  Managing  Director  of  Silverstone  Circuits  Limited,  said,  “Thanks  to  Lewis Hamilton F1 is cool again, and we are seeing just how much it means to the British public to be able to get behind a potential British World Champion. Our ticket sales following his [Hamilton’s] win in Japan were the highest since this year’s British Grand Prix and double the daily average for September. That’s the impact Hamilton is having on both the British public and the sport in general.” Phillips  also  confirmed  that  several  areas  of  grandstand  seating  are  already  sold  out.  He continued, “Our revised pricing structure has proved popular with fans so far. More customers are  taking  advantage  of  our  British  Grand  Prix  Early  Booking  Offer,  the  first  phase  of  which offers  up  to  33%  off  tickets1.  This  offer  comes  to  a  close  at  the  end  of  October2,  so  anyone wanting    to    make    the    most    of    our    discounted    rates    should    visit    the    website  silverstone.co.uk – before 1 November.

“Two or three of the most popular grandstand areas have already sold out. We strongly advise fans  wishing  to  book  seats  overlooking  their  favourite  section  of  the  track,  to  purchase  their tickets as soon as possible to avoid any potential disappointment.” Back by popular demand, Silverstone has re-introduced one-day tickets for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday3 of the 2008 British Grand Prix. In addition, the circuit is continuing to offer fantastic value  through  its  three-day  ticket,  available  from  as  little  as  £99,  and  the  option  of  Family Tickets (for two adults and up to three children) for Friday practice or Saturday qualifying.
