Lead still in Pritchards clutch!

Despite a non finish on the International Rally Yorkshire, Jason Pritchard still heads the C2R2 Cup 2007 championship. The series now goes to the final round and will be the toughest test of the year as the rally is also the final round of the World Rally Championship, Wales Rally of Great Britain.Jason and his Brecon co-driver Martin Jones started the Pickering based rally by completing the opening loose surface test with a seven second lead over their nearest championship rivals. However, all was not well inside the Quick Motorsport prepared FCS Lasermail/North Road Garage Citroën C2 as the Builth Wells driver found the clutch had started slipping towards the end of the stage."We were surprised to have had the fastest time in the stage as we were really struggling with the car towards the end of the stage. We continued on to the next stage but knew it would be difficult to finish the rally."The 2007 MSA British Rally Academy member continued through the next few stages with huge time loss, but had only dropped to second Citroën but had no alternative but to retire from the event."We had lost so much time on the stages and amazed to still be in second place and were very disappointed to retire. We are still leading the championship by just one point and should certainly make for an interesting final round on Wales Rally GB."Jason and Martin will now concentrate their efforts on the final round, the Wales Rally GB. The rally takes place on 30th November - 2nd December offering a total of 235 competitive miles over the three days.Jason and Martin are supported in their 2007 campaign by FCS Lasermail and North Road Garage, Builth Wells.
