IMS Productions, the state-of-the-art video production arm of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, recently won a prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award for the documentary “Heart to Heart.”

IMSP won in the Professional News Division – Information category for “Heart to Heart,” which chronicles 12-year-old Bailey Hunsberger’s battle with and treatment for aortic stenosis, a defective heart valve. The award acknowledges professional production of a high quality in a variety of content categories.

CINE is internationally recognized for its highly acclaimed film and video competitions and related educational support activities, which culminate every year in a gala awards event held in the Washington, D.C., area. CINE has a wide following in the film and video industry nationally and internationally, drawing more than 1,000 entries per year into its prestigious competitions, which have taken place since 1957.

“We are honored to receive this award from CINE,” said Brian Gordon, senior director of programming and editing for IMS Productions. “Bailey’s story is inspirational, and we are very proud of the job that everyone at IMS Productions did on ‘Heart to Heart.’”

An IMS Productions film crew followed Bailey, her parents and Bailey’s team of physicians at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis as she underwent treatment.

Actor Patrick Dempsey narrated the documentary. Dempsey, a co-owner of Vision Racing in the IndyCar Series, also surprised Bailey with a visit at the hospital during her treatment.

The CINE Golden Eagle Award is the latest of many honors IMS Productions has earned for its production of “Heart to Heart.”

Other awards include the Best Documentary (Short) in November 2006 at the prestigious New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. The film also was placed in the festival’s Grand Festival Award category, the highest honor possible.

The 2008 Heartland Film Festival also selected “Heart to Heart” as an entrant in this year’s competition.
